At The Edmund Trust we are a charity that supports people with learning disabilities across Cambridgeshire.

As a support worker within our Community Service you will be supporting a happy and euthanistic man who enjoys football, playing x box and Harry Potter.

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in aiding and supporting him, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This position requires a commitment to fostering independence and dignity to the people we support.

Duties

  • Assistance with daily living activities, including personal care with the use of a hoist and slide sheet, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Administrating medication and the usage of PEG feed
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, promoting social interaction and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records and report any changes in their condition to the appropriate professionals.
  • Collaborate and communicate with healthcare providers, family members, and other support staff
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and protocols.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a support or care role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Full flexibility across the week. Shifts available are 08.00-20.00 with occasional Sleep in shift.
  • Full & Part time positions available
  • Full UK driver license is required
