About the role

Our Boots Opticians Finance team are looking for a Finance Manager - Financial Accounting & Reporting to join our Financial Control team. You will support the Financial Controller in ensuring the Opticians business has an effective financial management and control process, a robust month end process and has a credible platform to facilitate decision-making.

This is a multi-faceted role which allows you to use and develop your technical accounting knowledge, and review existing processes with a view of continuous improvement. You will:

• Coordinate and manage the department through the month end financial close process ensuring group reporting is timely and accurate
• Review and oversight of balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure entity compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including audit and statutory accounts, and working closely with WBA Group functions to achieve this
• Support the Group Tax function by gathering information for Corporation Tax & PSA
• Maintenance and improvement of financial controls across various finance processes
• Continuous improvement of existing accounting processes
• Manage adhoc group requirements and acting as financial accounting advisor for business projects
• Work closely with the Genpact R2R team to ensure all tasks are accurately completed on time
• Support with project work relating to the implementation of SAP S/4 HANA.
• Ad hoc projects as required
