Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a
Finance Process Transformation Specialist to join our Finance team on a
12-month fixed-term basis. The role will be based in Basingstoke, with just 3 days per week in the office.
🔍 Requirements Gathering & Analysis
As a Finance Process Transformation Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in Merlin’s Finance Transformation Programme. From streamlining P2P processes to enhancing finance business partnering, your knowledge will help us:
- Spot inefficiencies and craft clear, actionable solutions.
- Document user stories and design process flows.
💡 Solution Design & Recommendations
- Brainstorm and create innovative solutions.
- Build financial models, reports, and streamlined processes.
🤝 Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with diverse finance teams across the business.
- Ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
📊 Data Analysis & Reporting
- Deliver faster insights with cutting-edge dashboards and reports.
- Identify trends and opportunities using your analytical skills.
🔧 Testing, Training, And Support
- Ensure smooth rollouts with thorough testing and training.
- Provide ongoing support to ensure solutions remain impactful.
Qualifications & Experience
- You must be a Fully-Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with no exams left to take
- Experience in delivering finance process improvement initiatives is essential
- This is a hands-on role so experience in working with multiple finance systems (preferably NetSuite), with strong Microsoft excel is essential
- Analytical decision-making with a focus on value creation - use insight to seek out opportunities
- Proactive questioning and constructive challenge
- Confident in your ability to learn new systems and get up to speed quickly
- Have a high level of diligence, without losing sight of the overall outcome
- An adaptable and initiative-taking individual with a strong record of delivering results under pressure with tight deadlines
- Open to innovation and alternative approaches - not confined to what has always been done in the past
- Good presentation skills - ability to present complex data / scenarios “cleanly” and “simply”
- Understanding of process efficiency and quality methodologies desirable e.g., Lean / Six Sigma
- Resilience & Adaptability: Able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
- This role may involve occasional travel to different office locations
- Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project deadlines or collaborate with teams in different time zones
