General Foreman – Environment Scotland
Inverness
An opportunity has arisen in Inverness for a General Foreman to join the team at Galliford Try. As a General Foreman, you will take full responsibility for management of your section of works ensuring you meet client and company performance expectations.
Ideally, you will based in or around Inverness and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
What you will be doing:
Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
Day to day management of site-based construction works.
Responsible for effective coordination of resources working on the project.
Ensure temporary and permanent works are delivered in accordance with the design.
Careful material and plant management to meet programme and financial targets.
Assist in planning and programming with site engineering teams.
Participate in site discipline meetings to aid effective coordination and delivery of the works.
Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permit to Work systems are in place before work commences.
About You:
Ability to work safely.
Able to communicate effectively with site team and subcontractors.
Execution of construction work in line with ITP’s, quality standards and safety documentation.
Confident in delivering safety briefings and toolbox talks.
Able to read and interpret design drawings.
Proven leadership capability.

Our Environment Business provides ‘source to sea’ asset delivery capability across the UK and Scotland working on both Frameworks and Standalone projects. Since AMP3 we have delivered in excess of £2bn assets for clients such as Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Anglian Water, Thames Water, Southern Water, Welsh Water and Scottish Water. As an established player in the market this a great opportunity to join the team at a time of transformation as we shape ourselves to be fit for delivery in a future digital world. We have recently secured a plethora of places on the AMP7 Frameworks for Yorkshire Water, Southern Water and Thames Water for both Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure projects ranging from £1-40m over the next five years.
