Altus Partners is delighted to be partnered with an esteemed investment platform in the search for a Deputy Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or “Business Unit CFO/FD” in a newly created opportunity since private equity investment. This will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape over the next 12 months and drive finance strategy as the business gets ready for the next transaction. The opportunity will be fast moving and highly acquisitive, sitting on the board and overseeing various subsidiaries in a broad remit.
As the Deputy CFO, you'll collaborate closely with the Group CFO, CEO and other senior management to oversee the financial operations of a complex business structure and diverse portfolio. This will also be a key point of contact for the large-cap financial sponsors and executives with an exit goal in the next 2 -3 years. Your strategic insight and financial expertise will be instrumental in driving the company's financial performance, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
THE ROLE:
- Assist in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Working closely with the financial controllership team, own and develop the financial planning tool to improve quality and timeliness of our management reporting.
- Manage financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide insightful analysis to drive decision-making and support strategic initiatives.
- Oversee risk management strategies and internal controls.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in a senior financial role within the finance services industry, ideally both PLC / Private Equity.
- Experience as Group Finance Director or CFO level role in a similar size and scale (circa. £800 Million revenue and 1000+ people).
- Candidates approved as SMFs (SMF 2 more specifically) – would be a big plus.
- Strong understanding of Financial Services, Wealth or Asset Management, regulations and reporting standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Solid grasp of financial analysis, forecasting, and risk management.
- Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA or Chartered Accountant).
