Role description:
The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the SHEQS business plan and program and the administration of the team, raising PO, and managing the UK SHEQS budget. Engages and promotes SHEQS activities through the HS&W co-ordinations. Attendance statutory meetings and acts as the secretariat. Supports in the development of campaigns and initiatives. Keeps an overview of the completion of the business plan and task tracker. Support the process that ensures the UK accreditations (i.e. ISO, CHAS, SSIP, etc) related to health, safety, and wellbeing are supported, assured, maintained, and externally verified. To support the development of the SHEQS UK Intranet pages. To support the SHEQ inbox and the supporting individuals.
This role can be based in any office location in the United Kingdom (but the preference of London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester)
Role accountabilities:
Accreditation
- Support and maintain the accreditation portals and scheme POC.
- Supports the hosting of external audits for business-critical H&S schemes (incl. SMAS, Safe Contractor, CHAS, RISQS, Achilles, Construction online and CQMS)
Administration
- To support the delivery of the SHEQS business plan and program
- To support the administration of the team, raise PO, and manage the UK SHEQS budget.
- Engages and promotes SHEQS activities through the HS&W co-ordinations
- Attendance statutory meetings and act as the secretariat
- To support the development of the SHEQS UK Intranet pages
Reporting
- Supports the production of monthly, and quarterly reports for Board, UK LT, XBA, and BU-specific HS&W information.
Culture and Behaviours
- Assists in the development of the HS&W approach from both psychosocial, physical health, and safety approaches to encouraging the right behaviors and culture.
- Encourages the right health and safety behaviors through engagement and demonstration of the Arcadis values.
- Inputs and considers the contributing factors related to occupational health and wellbeing in all HS&W aspects, from the data and information collated during reporting processes.
Innovation and Campaigns
- Working collaboratively with other consultants, contractors, and government regulators to roll out leading-edge developments and best practice
- Responsible for identifying and delivering initiatives and campaigns that will support activities and promote health and safety.
- Produce HS&W alerts and lessons learnt for all incidents on the project – developing a set of visual and essential standards
Engagement and communications
- Supports the SHEQ Inbox management and distribution
- Ensure that there are consistent H&S communications, with information available on the Arcadis Intranet.
General
- Provide Health & Safety advice to our teams across the UK
- Generate and promote awareness and understanding of H&S at all levels in the country
- Ensures global H&S strategy and GHSMSS is delivered consistently across the BA through the BA H&S organization working together with the H&S country manager and country director.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, including psychology
- Grad professional status, or equivalent
- Thorough understanding of one or more sectors
- Effective project management, client relationship management, and commercial skills
- Promote and demonstrate proactive Health and Safety leadership capability and the ability to inspire Arcadis staff on every level around the common purpose; growth of our proactive Health and Safety culture and international client recognition for our H&S achievements and services.
- Holds a professional Health & Safety degree in any Arcadis-based country and has a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in H&S related to Arcadis business.
