What You’ll do (the role)

This role will play a key role in understanding and supporting development of the regional market strategy.  Identifying opportunities and creative business models for on shore renewable and battery energy storage. Collaborating with the regional power markets team and development organization in support of commercial goals and objectives including pipeline development, revenue contracting, partnerships and key stakeholder management.

• Management of the regional power markets analyst function, setting standards, developing the individuals and ensuring delivery of robust analytical support across 10 power markets in Europe.
• Key interface with bp’s commercial analysis function, leveraging expertise and modelling capability to drive value creation for the group.
• Leadership in understanding developments across European markets and energy policy and the impact these will have on power markets to keep Lightsource bp at the forefront of the market.
• Working closely in cross functional team supporting commercial management, origination and optimization activities.
• Oversight of all revenue modelling to support onshore renewables and BESS revenue optimization activity including for hybrid projects including pricing of all PPA proposals and auction bidding strategies.   Supporting development of technoeconomic modelling tools and capability. 
• The team is responsible for identifying offtake and market opportunities to optimize the business case for battery energy storage systems (BESS) co-located with solar pv or standalone. 
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, such as development, technical, structured finance, engineering and construction across the broader organization to manage opportunities strategically.

Who we’re looking for

 Knowledge & Experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of the European Power and Ancillary Services markets is a must along with utility scale energy storage experience and a working knowledge of renewables projects
• Understanding of how to stack varying revenue opportunities for collocated or standalone storage in order to optimize value
• Successful track record of executing complex energy projects and/or transactions.
• Strong project and process management skills with experience managing multiple teams on simultaneous projects.
• Good interpersonal, leadership and collaboration skills with experience in managing analyst teams.
• Relevant experience of industry with strong external and executive level engagement/stakeholder management.
