Start Date: April or September 2025
Contract: Permanent, full time
Salary: MPR/UPR (£31,650 to £49,084 per annum) + TLR (£5,351 per annum)
Samuel Ward Academy is looking to appoint a Head of Business and Economics. As an expert practitioner, you will act as the professional lead for the subject, inspiring teachers and students, continuously improving classroom practice and achieving excellent student outcomes. You will monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and student progress in the subject.
We are looking for a teacher of the highest calibre who has an excellent understanding of the subject and the ability to motivate, challenge and inspire our students. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled, innovative, creative and enthusiastic practitioner with a determination to achieve the highest outcomes.
The successful candidate will benefit from an excellent CPD offer and will join a school with a highly visible and supportive SLT, a sensible to approach to workload and a calm, respectful working environment.
Samuel Ward is a highly successful 11-18 co-educational academy. We are situated in pleasant surroundings on the western edge of Suffolk, within easy reach of Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. We benefit from excellent facilities; our new £10m building opened in April 2019. We were inspected by Ofsted in November 2022 and were delighted to be graded a good school.
