What we are looking for;

We are getting ready for full launch – excited to start to engage customers and start lending and now looking for a talented individual to take the lead for enterprise and operational risk. As the Head of Enterprise & Operational Risk of a regulated early-stage Bank you will be responsible for all 2^nd line enterprise-wide risk management activity, including ownership of Climate Risk and ESG.

What you will do;

You will be responsible for the design and management of Risk Frameworks across the Bank, coupled with training and education across the Bank to ensure fully embedded. You will also support the assessment of Operational Risk Capital stress testing to ensure appropriate capital holding is maintained.

This a broad role, with the autonomy to:

• Lead on key strategic projects with the support of the Chief Risk Officer.
• Develop the Banks initial approach to Climate Risk and shape the banks longer term ESG strategy.  
• Manage second line risk function, delivering a supportive and enhanced risk culture across the bank, including development of the operating model, aligning business objectives, considering longer term strategic planning, recruitment, and budgeting
• Manage the Executive Risk Committee (ERC), maintaining ongoing management responsibilities including coordination of agenda and governance requirements, follow up on actions and ensuring terms of reference and other documents remain up to date
• Shape and guide the business of the Board Risk Committee (BRC), to drive its contribution to the business and the discharge of its oversight responsibilities
• 2LOD Lead on enterprise-wide reporting solution.
• Work with the Executive to build, monitor, present and escalate the top strategic risks to the bank at both ERC & BRC.
• Support the mechanics of the enterprise, coordinating business wide SMCR requirements
• Risk lead on first line projects including reward, culture, stress testing, merger and acquisition.

About you

• Passionate about what we are trying to do, flexible and adaptable, happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.
• Previous experience of working in Financial Services and a regulated environment.
• Excellent industry sector / business / market / economic / regulatory understanding at both a macro and micro level and using this knowledge to contribute practically and pro-actively.
• Commercially aware, in relation to the external competitive market but also the requirements and flexibility required of working within an SME organisation.
• Proven ability to build relationships, gain credibility and influence at all levels of management.
• Takes responsibility and ownership of work delivery, demonstrating the ability to work on own initiative on a varied range of tasks whilst prioritising time critical actions.
• Act as an advocate and setting the cultural tone for the wider organisation. 
• Ability to write concise and insightful reports and be an effective communicator.
