Description

Your role will be to provide safe and effective office and lab facilities for the ~300 staff working across Digital Catapult's UK operations. You will lead the facilities and front of house team(s) in excellent service provision, select and manage service providers, ensure compliance with all legal requirements and make sure our facilities and hybrid working environments support the delivery of our missions. You will have a deep understanding of what it takes to operate workplaces that are both safe and innovative ensuring an excellent employee and visitor experience within Digital Catapult. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO (Duties) 

 

  • Define and lead delivery of all ‘office' operations, including front of house and reception and hybrid working arrangements, and oversee safe and effective operations in Digital Catapult technical facilities (the Labs). 
  • Lead the facilities team, coaching members to high performance, building career paths and inspiring a professional customer service-oriented approach. 
  • Manage facilities budgets within agreed tolerances. 
  • Manage the relationship with our landlord(s), ensuring positive working and that all commitments are honoured. 
  • Procure and oversee sub-contracted services ensuring value-for-money and effective service delivery. 
  • Manage Health & Safety and Business Continuity Planning. 
  • Visit our locations on a rotational basis to ensure high performance, service delivery and safety across our locations and a consistent "One Digital Catapult" approach. 

Requirements


  • Significant experience running facilities operation at a similar scale (c 300 staff) in multiple locations across the UK and with hybrid working. 
  • Hands on experience of leading and inspiring a small team, managing their performance, instilling a customer focused culture and helping careers to grow. 
  • Experience selecting and managing sub-contractors and their performance. 
  • Strong relationship building skills, approachable and responsive.  
  • A commitment to inclusion, ensuring equity in service delivery and experience. 
  • Qualifications in facilities management and health & safety and knowledge of fire control systems, PAT and CCTV an advantage.
