A Brief Overview

The Head of EMEA Valuation Analytics and Support is responsible for leading the EMEA valuation team activities relating to model developments, LDTI analysis and reporting and is responsible for operational interactions with the Global Finance and Global Valuation teams on these areas. They centralise information relating to models, assumptions and any other relevant items.

They lead and manage the Valuation Analytics and Support Team and support project work and other analysis across the region.

What You Will Do

General

• Responsible for leading and co-ordinating EMEA valuation team work (across the UK, SA and CEME teams) on assumption changes, model development and the development and implementation of new analysis and MI tools.
• Responsible for being a key operational liaison with Global Valuation and Global Finance teams
• Responsible for maintaining a live log of model and assumption changes, with future forecasts, and sharing that (including impacts) with local and global management.teams.
• Responsible for supporting EMEA Valuation Team projects through sharing resources, and maintaining a view of short and medium term project and resource needs.
  
  

Specifics

• Modelling and Analytic Support
• Lead liaising with the Global Valuation Team on identifying suitable packages and coordinating support and training to the EMEA valuation team where needed, and on the deployment of new tools.
• Lead and champion consistent methodology across the EMEA Valuation Team.
• Manage the provision of support for ongoing valuation modelling across EMEA.
• Lead and coordinate standardised EMEA level financial analysis.
• Coordinate business plan work across the EMEA Valuation Team.
• Project Support
• Responsible for and manages the provision of support to Entity teams where required (e.g. to cover resignations, maternity-cover and ad-hoc short term requirements).
• Provide support to project management where required.
• Governance
• Ensure enterprise EUC approaches are known and followed across the region.
• Provide support for risk transfer assessments for US GAAP and US Stat for EMEA.
• Provide the audit capability for valuation audits of Risk Transfer and NBEV.
• Update and maintain policies and documentation where required.
  

Team Leadership & Management

• Leads and manages the EMEA Valuation Analytics and Support Team.
• Reinforces a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, professionalism and performance within the EMEA Valuation Team and with stakeholders.
  
  

Requirements

• Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Society of Actuaries or other recognized actuarial
• 10+ years of experience in the life insurance or reinsurance industry.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP LDTI.
• Good knowledge of principles-based regulatory system.
  
  

Preferred/Desirable

• Prior experience of valuation processes in an operational or consulting capacity would be highly regarded.
• Reinsurance experience would be highly desirable.
• Knowledge and experience of LDTI would be highly desirable.
