We have a great new opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our team.


Transdev Blazefield is an established bus company with over 1300 colleagues, 400 buses and 9 depots based across Yorkshire and Lancashire. We are a multi award winning business and pride ourselves on embracing new technologies, our high levels of customer service and championing our colleagues.

Based at our Head Office in Harrogate, reporting to and working closely with the Head of People, the main purpose of the role is to provide professional and comprehensive HR support across the Transdev Blazefield business.


What does the role involve?

  • To provide comprehensive and practical HR advice in line with the company’s policies and procedures whilst ensuring legal compliance.
  • To support on disciplinary, grievance and performance cases and where appropriate in more complex cases act as note taker.
  • To support managers with the management of sickness absence, both short and long term.
  • To support the Recruitment Administrator with any queries regarding recruitment, best practice and legal compliance with direct involvement in recruitment as and when required.
  • To be actively involved developing and the promotion of employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Work with the Head of People to ensure that policies meet the needs of the business and are in line with currently legislation requirements, including updating / creating policies as required.
  • To prepare contractual documentation or other HR documentation / letters as required.
  • Use the company’s systems to access and compile data to prepare HR reports including monthly KPI reports and ad hoc data as required.
  • To create and maintain a database of different terms and conditions across all Transdev Blazefield companies.
  • To support on TUPE transfers, ensuring full compliance throughout.
  • To support or if appropriate lead on any ad hoc projects.
  • To perform any other duties or ad hoc tasks that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties.


Skills and experience required

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working as a HR Advisor or in a HR Generalist position.
  • A good working knowledge of employment law and best practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels both internally and externally to the company.
  • The ability to work confidentially and on with sensitive data / cases.
  • High levels of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good general IT skills, with a good knowledge of Excel to enable the collation and presentation of data.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team managing a busy workload.
  • The ability to work flexibly and to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility and transport to travel to other locations.
  • Level 5 CIPD qualified preferred.
  • Ideally previous experience of working in a unionised environment.
