Role Overview
Windows Integration engineer to work on several build and / or support projects ranging from the development of a secure Windows solutions to regular software patching for a few existing support projects.
The build projects cover development, build, configuration and testing of the laptops and contain both COTS and bespoke applications from multiple vendors.
The Support projects cover; answering user queries, logging faults, and providing first line support over the telephone, the download, image preparation and testing of the updates prior to distribution to the end user.
Responsibilities
- Installation of Operating System and required application software packages
- Implement Security tools and practices
- Ensure configuration and backup of Support Servers
- Provision of system updates for the Operating System and software to the latest releases, patches etc
- Technical Support to Customer
- Support to new and existing Team Members
Essential Skills
- Windows Operating Systems (preferably Windows 10, but Windows 7 or Server 2012 onwards would suffice)
- Knowledge and understanding of Windows Group Policy Objects
- Knowledge of system testing, configuration management and quality assurance best practices
- Ability to fault find low level hardware and software issues
Other Skills
- Networking
- Scripting – for use in automation of installation tasks (PowerShell)
- Understanding of security requirements and lockdown processes for classified systems
