Job Title: Interim Head of Tax
Location: London/Hybrid
Duration: c. 6 months
Day Rate: c. £1000 per day
Our client, a PE backed international business are looking for an interim Head of Tax to join them for 6 months initially, on a hybrid working basis. As the interim Head of Tax, your repsonsibilities would be, but not limited to:
- Lead ongoing tax investigations and manage legacy withholding tax matters to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement streamlined processes for routine tax compliance, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with international tax standards.
- Identify potential tax issues, challenges, and opportunities across the business, proposing and implementing processes to address and resolve them.
- Work closely with the leadership team to design the tax function's future direction, ensuring it aligns with the company’s growth strategy and operational needs.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on all tax-related matters, including transfer pricing, indirect taxes, and local tax regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, audits, and reporting across the group, maintaining adherence to local and international tax laws.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and global tax reforms, advising the business on potential impacts and opportunities.
- Drive the development of tax risk management strategies to protect the company from potential tax liabilities.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to manage tax risks and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in tax management within a private equity-backed, international environment.
- Strong technical expertise in corporate tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and international tax compliance.
- Experience in establishing and refining tax processes and systems within a global business.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex tax issues efficiently and proactively.
- Strong understanding of global tax regulations, and the ability to navigate and influence tax strategy across multiple jurisdictions.
- Degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field (CTA, ACA, or equivalent qualification desirable).
