About The Role

As IT Audit, Risk & Assurance Senior Manager, you’ll maintain the group-wide design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of a 2nd line of defence technology controls for Drax IT.

Your role will involve liaising with key stakeholders throughout the IT, Group Security and Group Finance functions to ensure that the control framework is appropriate and has been designed, implemented, and operates effectively, and that it responds to changes in the internal and external environment.

Managing a small team, you’ll ensure the team is aligned to the business strategy, the technical roadmap and objectives set out in the IT and Security strategy.

You’ll lead on the internal controls’ metrics and delivery of evidence to the IGRC (Internal Group Risk Controls), testing their effectiveness and manage the changes depending on the focus and risk.

You’ll work with the outsourced Internal Audit function to provide assurance to the Audit Committee and management that the system of internal control is appropriate and has operated effectively across the Group. This will include facilitating delivery of the Internal Audit plan and conducting reviews of controls as requested by management.

Your role will also include developing upward reporting and confirming how key stakeholders, including the Group CFO and Audit Committee, are kept informed of the work delivered along with key findings, lessons learnt along with remediations.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll have a strong experience working in IT and Security internal controls, internal audit, external and/ or risk related roles within technology. This will include experience working in assessment of policies and standards, risk scoring, assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of mitigating controls and recommending improvements to control design.

You’ll bring knowledge of UK regulatory and compliance environments (i.e., e.g. GDPR, PCI, NIS Regulations and the UK Corporate Governance Code Reforms) and the ability to apply it appropriately.

Strong technical and process knowledge within IT is required including security, system development and project management processes. You’ll bring knowledge of key technology frameworks CRISC, COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001 is ideal, as well as a professional qualification such as CISA, CISM and/ or ITIL.

The role requires you to have the ability to communicate clearly and with impact in high pressure situations including the ability to challenge and influence the view of senior stakeholders respectfully, confidently, and effectively to bring a new perspective.
