The department


The IT Team is responsible for all aspects of IT across the business, covering User Support, Infrastructure, Security, Data and Development Teams.


Purpose of job


The IT Compliance Specialist is to support the Security Manager by playing a pivotal role in ensuring IT Systems and processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.


Accountabilities


Policy Development:

  • Develop and implement IT compliance policies and procedures.

Auditing:

  • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies. (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials+)

Risk Assessment:

  • Identify and assess compliance risks within the IT environment.

Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and make recommendations for improvement.

Training:

  • Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters.

Incident Management:

  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues and incidents.

Documentation:

  • Maintain documentation of compliance activities, including audit results and corrective actions.

Collaboration:

  • Work with other departments to ensure overall compliance with IT policies and regulations.

Applications:

  • Assist the business with its submissions for tender and insurance responses

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on the latest compliance trends and best practices.

Vendor Management:

  • Ensure third-party vendors comply with the organisation's IT policies.

Security Compliance:

  • Work closely with the Security Team to ensure data protection and security measures are in place.


Qualifications/Experience


  • Strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Awareness of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL Framework
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g. GDPR, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials +).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and high ethical standards.
  • Experience with compliance management tools and software.
