As the IT Systems Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and troubleshooting the IT systems infrastructure at our Morpeth site. You will function as a Level 3 technical escalation point for on-site IT Support engineers and work with consultants and contractors on project-specific work. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of IT services, contributing significantly to our mission of delivering high-quality pharmaceutical solutions.
Role
- Manage and troubleshoot IT Systems infrastructure function at the Piramal Pharma Solutions site at Morpeth
- Function as level 3 technical escalation for on-site IT Support engineers and the occasional consultants/contractors for project specific work
- Monitors key service metrics (quality measures, customer satisfaction ratings, service level objectives, etc.) against plan and adjusts processes as appropriate
- Provides support to IT operations and Application teams in areas of technical assessments and/or design of appropriate IT infrastructure setup
- Works with and co-ordinates with Corp IT and/or vendors for Level 2|3 support and other complex issues that may require advanced technical assessments and/or changes to existing solution components
- Establish priorities, timelines, and ensure appropriate resources are available for projects/initiatives
- Regular reporting to operational management regarding operations, updates related to IT Infra
- Working on one or more projects concurrently whilst being responsible for the support and maintenance of existing IT infrastructure setup.
COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Professional certifications like MCSA/MCSE, VCP, or CCNA/CCNP would be desirable
- Excellent IT skills including exposure to end user services technologies and products
- Strong diagnostic skills and a working knowledge of current technologies
- Intermediate understanding of datacenter, networking and security services and technologies
- Keeps current with emerging security alerts and issues
- Ability to learn or conduct research into new and/or emerging technologies, trends, etc as required
Proven project planning and management experience
Business Intelligence experience is desirable
Strong SQL/Oracle Database Administration Desirable
