The Vacancy
We are looking for an IT Security Support Analyst to join our Global IT & Service department within our Head Office in Viables, Basingstoke.
Reporting to the Technical IT Security Support Specialist, this role will assist in the administration of the user accounts (creation, transfer, permissions and leavers) are deliver effectively within SLA’s. The role will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate monitoring is undertaken using security tools to log, investigate and resolve security issues, risks and / or preventative measures.
In addition, the IT Security Support Analyst will be responsible for ensuring patching is tested and pushed to De La Rue Servers and Desktops under direction from the Technical IT Security Support Specialist, and in liaison with the IT Live Services Team.
Where necessary the role will assist in conducting Root Cause Analysis against specific security incidents, as deemed necessary by the Group IT Director or Information Security Manager.
The role will be required to contribute to resolution of action plans relating to standards required and attained by IT in support of customer/client contracts (e.g. ISO27001, ISO90001, etc.)
The post holder will be expected to deputise for their immediate line manager in their absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain various security technologies and environments, solutions and platforms including but not limited to software patch deployment technology, antivirus solution, privilege access management technology and security environments.
- Review ITHC and Vulnerability assessment’s and provide remedial action plans.
- Investigate ITSEC incidents providing reports where required.
- Advise on emerging threats and vulnerabilities and how they impact the De La Rue Environments
- Advise on security best practices provided by vendors and translate to De La Rue Environments
- Provide end user training and support with regards to policies, procedures and best practices
- Assist in preparation of team Metrics (including KPIs), evaluate documented resolutions, analyse trends and make recommendations, implement changes to prevent future incidents.
- Represent change requests at CAB, and partake in the Problem Advisory Board where required.
- Support internal and external security audits
- Aid Live Services to maintain a stable server, communication and network environment.
- On-call availability as required
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Full Time – 36.5 hrs per week (9am – 5:15pm Mon, 9am – 5pm Tues – Fri)

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, IT, or related field and/or significant equivalent work experience
- Certifications in Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD) Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCDA) or other equivalent and recognized qualifications
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- Basic Firewall\IPS\IDS Knowledge
- Knowledge of network protocols and concepts
- Knowledge of Antivirus Products and configuration\Tuning
- Excellent technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems and standards
- Demonstrable evidence of analysing documentation and introducing improvements
