Team Structure

Our global innovation team was founded in January 2018, with a primary focus on improving and enhancing the way our lawyers deliver services to clients. The team's remit also includes identifying, developing and implementing new services that complement our core revenue generating activities.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to provide junior (paralegal level) legal project management support on litigation matters, in particular, largescale litigation matters and group actions.

The firm currently has one Legal Project Manager ("LPM"), who supports the litigation team. The LPM works alongside legal teams on matters, managing non-legal aspects and implementing/streamlining processes to drive efficiencies, both internally and for the client. This role is to provide support to the current LPM in this work.

Main Responsibilities

Legal project management support on litigation matters

Role

The primary focus of this role is to provide legal project management support on litigation matters. Types of tasks will include:

  • Implementation and management of technological solutions, such as HighQ and specialist group action management tools.
  • Creation and management of trackers, e.g. cost, budget and workstream trackers etc.
  • Collation and management of data, e.g. survey responses, contact lists etc.
  • Creation and management of matter task lists and deadlines.
  • Organisation and management of documents and filing structures.
  • Preparing first drafts of reports and updates to clients and other third parties, such as funders and insurers.
  • Liaising with third parties regarding non-legal matters.

Broader contribution

The role also includes working with the current LPM in:

  • Considering legal project management solutions and strategy.
  • Training our lawyers on legal project management.
  • Promoting legal project management across the firm.
  • Business development activities, including writing articles and case studies.
  • Building strong and trusted relationships within the firm; spanning both legal and business services teams across a range of seniorities.
  • Working with and supporting the wider innovation team.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a professional services environment.
  • Experience of working as part of a professional team.
  • Experience of working with basic tech tools such as MS Excel and MS Planner.
  • Demonstrated experience of or a passion for improving processes and driving change.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in an organised manner, managing and prioritising multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with large quantities of data.
  • Proven experience in building trusted relationships, both internally and externally with diverse groups of individuals.

Desired

  • Experience of legal project management and process improvement work.
  • Experience of working in a professional legal environment.
  • Experience of working in commercial litigation.
  • Experience of working with LegalTech tools such as HighQ, Documents Automation, generative AI applications and Relativity.
  • Demonstrated experience of working proactively and seeking opportunities.
