Within the Home Office Digital Data and Technology arm, the Data Services and Analytics (DSA) team drives innovative uses of Home Office data and hosts one of the most advanced government data analytics centres. We lead in the appropriate use of data and analytics to deliver intelligent services, improve decision-making, and support policy and operations.

DSA collaborates across Home Office areas, including borders, visas, passports, policing, and national security, working with some of the largest and most diverse datasets to support critical national initiatives.

Our team, a diverse mix of technical and non-technical professionals, serves as the department's data expertise hub. We offer structured learning, mentoring, and feedback to support professional growth.

The Lead Demand Manager collaborates with multidisciplinary teams who are working on large, complex projects, combining functional and people management responsibilities.

In this role, responsibilities include managing DSA’s Front Door and leading the end-to-end Demand Management process, with an initial focus on refining and improving front door processes, ways of working, and supporting demand activities.

💻 As lead demand manager you will have experience of:

  • Effectively communicating and explaining technical requirements and issues to business stakeholders, and vice versa i.e. business concepts to technical teams.
  • Demonstrating a deep knowledge and understanding of the development lifecycle and the resources required at each stage through delivery experience.
  • Having the ability to understand the types of demand requests raised, the work required and the user benefits.
  • Communicating and negotiating effectively to manage both internal stakeholder and external partner expectations, adapting your style when required.
  • Supporting live services, change management and release management processes.
  • Acting as an advisor within the demand process, influencing prioritisation and resolving conflicts, particularly when there are competing demands.

🚀 What we offer 🚀

Our flexible working policy ensures a healthy work-life balance. We also nurture talent and offer a broad range of learning and development opportunities that will help you flourish in your role.

We work hard to maintain a positive working culture and are committed to helping you fulfil your potential. We value diversity and provide an open, inclusive and supportive environment to help you do your best work.

Please note for this role you will require a SC clearance. To meet national security vetting requirements you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years.

We encourage applications from people from the widest possible diversity of backgrounds, cultures and experiences. We particularly welcome applications from women, people with disabilities and LGBT+ as they are currently under-represented in the Home Office at this grade level. Appointments will be made on merit on the basis of fair and open competition.
