Position Summary
4most are looking for a Lead Machine Learning Ops Engineer to build and maintain cloud infrastructure that supports the deployment of AI & ML models and algorithms into applications and APIs that are optimized for performance, cost and usability.
In the rapidly evolving world of AI & ML automation our Lead MLOps Engineer will be challenged each day. From the design and implementation of a new MLOps framework for 4most to debugging the ML pipelines or from designing data ingestion to delivering outcomes to front end Generative AI applications – each day will provide exciting and challenging experiences.
We expect you to be a hands-on engineer with first-rate analytical skills and an intrinsic drive to overcome obstacles. You will work with a small but diverse team to deliver high quality, maintainable products for both 4most and our clients in a fast-paced environment.
You will also have the opportunity to mentor and coach a small number of junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and ensure that the products meet the requirements and standards of the specific project. The role will be primarily working with internal stakeholders but may, on occasion, require interacting with clients to provide technical expertise.
What You'll Do
- Develop, maintain, and improve the CI/CD framework for scalable AI & ML model testing, evaluation, and optimisation, with a strong desire to automate.
- Assist in identifying and addressing issues in ML frameworks and associated compute.
- Work on enhancing user experiences by improving the performance and accuracy of generative large language based systems and machine learning models.
- Support model development, with an emphasis on auditability, versioning, and data security.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies to improve performance, maintainability, and reliability of ML systems.
- Provide education, collaborative support and enthusiasm in your area of expertise for 4most and our clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across 4most (Consultants, Client Partners, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Cloud/Software Engineers) and work towards shipping of robust AI products and service.
Your background
- A higher degree (PhD or MSc) in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics, Quantitative Applied Sciences or related areas.
- 3+ years of demonstrable experience of design, implementation and maintenance in AI/ML related engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of Python and ML Flow.
- Proven capability with general cloud engineering concepts including CI/CD, access and security, compute optimisation, database design and management.
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code.
- Exposure to machine learning and Generative AI methodology and best practices.
You should have extensive, hands-on experience of:
- Applying AI / ML methodologies in production to build data-driven products for solving business problems.
- Working with model and feature repositories, model performance analysis (monitoring), dataset management, versioning, creating tools for system debugging.
- Databricks or similar cloud-based machine learning frameworks.

Salary from £70,000-90,000 dependant on experience plus:
