Milestone Infrastructure Ltd is currently looking to recruit an Lifting Operations Manager to wo rk on our Somerset Infrastructure Alliance contract at Hinkley Point C.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Milestone Infrastructure, with opportunities to develop yourself and progress within a dynamic and innovative organisation. As the Lifting operations manager you will be responsible for the efficient and effective safe delivery of lifting operations.
As the Lifting Operations Manageryour duties & responsibilities will be:
- To be fully compliant with all current Approved Codes of Practice i.e. L.O.L.E.R. H.A.S.A.W.A. P.U.W.E.R. BS7121, Client and internal procedures governing the safe operations and systems of work for all lifting equipment.
- Produce and managing Lift Plan Risk Assessment Method Statements (Lift Plans) detailing a safe system of work for all types of lifting equipment, including reviewing third party lift plans.
- Manage and supervise all lifting operations within the project, including third party lifts, to ensure compliance with all Risk Assessments and Method Statements and Safe Systems Of Work (Lift Plans) and lifting records are being produced.
- The Appointed Person will ensure all Lifting Accessories are procured from a recognised supplier and are used and stored in line with all current British legislation and complying with the clients standard detailing all lifting accessories into a lifting asset register.
- Manage routine inspection and maintenance of all lifting equipment, owned and hired, ensuring all lifting equipment and calibrated items are acceptable and any defective items are controlled in line with procedures
- Ensure all types of lifting equipment has a current LOLER certificate of conformity and detailed service records are kept.
- Ensure Pre and Post use checks are carried out by the lifting operatives as per the Lift Plan.
- The Appointed Person will comply with client audits and internal audits to ensure the company is fully compliant with the law from the conception through to planning and execution of all lifting operations.
- To keep records of all lifting personnel to ensure the correct level of competence is achieved and maintained.
- To enrol capable company employees onto approved training courses to gain required qualifications and to follow through to NVQ standard and to keep records of all such training.
- Consultation with other responsible bodies (e.g. Client lifting team), if necessary.
- To ensure the highest possible Health, Safety & Environmental standards are employed across the service, adhering to Milestone & NNB health and safety policy/ environmental policy and actively supporting the Behavioural Safety culture that is an integral part of the Milestone working environment and the Zero Harm initiative at HPC
- Completion of HSE Inspections
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- CPCS A61 Level 5 Appointed Persons Lifting Operations
- Minimum of 5 years planning lifting operations
- CPCS Crane/Lifting Operations Supervisor
- Slinger/Signaller training
- Comprehensive understanding of all lifting Legislations and Regulations
- Good communication skills
- Good IT skills (AutoCAD)
