Maintenance Assistant – Maldron Hotel Brighton
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant at the excellent Maldron Hotel Brighton.
Objective of the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will assist in maintaining the property to the highest possible standards. You will be professional, enthusiastic, and reliable, demonstrating a strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
Main Duties
- Assist in providing general maintenance across the hotel.
- Support and collaborate with plumbers, electricians, and other contractors to ensure that work is completed to a satisfactory standard and that the workspace is left in order.
- Help in sourcing suppliers and managing inventory for maintenance supplies and health and safety items.
- Work closely with the accounts team to ensure all purchases are within budget, ensuring purchase orders are completed and approved.
- Assist in implementing and adhering to the hotel's SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for maintenance and health and safety.
- Address any maintenance issues that arise, helping to adjust procedures to prevent future incidents.
- Monitor utilities and assist in identifying and implementing more energy-efficient solutions.
- Support in any refurbishment or capital expenditure projects to ensure they meet Dalata and Health & Safety standards.
- Set a positive example for the team with a strong work ethic, professional attitude, and excellent personal presentation.
Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A strong work history, ideally with 2-3 years of experience in the hotel sector.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or similar role within a hotel environment.
- The ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards.
- A good knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
- Strong relationship-building skills with both customers and team members.
- Flexibility in day-to-day job demands and the ability to stay focused when priorities shift.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Electrical and plumbing qualifications would be advantageous.
