We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a
Maintenance Team Leader to join our growing
Operations Team here at Holman UK. The role is based in our
Birmingham office, near the
NEC so please bear this in mind when applying. This is a
permanent opportunity and the salary ranges between £40,000.00-£48,000.00 per year dependent on qualifications and experience.
We’re looking for candidates to have experience with managing/leading a maintenance team, measuring, analysing and being responsible for maintenance budgets and cost savings. Ideally you will have experience with Epyx-1Link and the products that come with this system.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Maintenance team to run efficiently, keeping cost savings and minimal VOR time a key target
- Monitoring overall adherence to agreed repair times, labour rates and part prices, reporting issues to key stakeholders to manage performance of suppliers
- Fostering an open environment where constructive feedback is actively encouraged, thoroughly considered, acted upon (where appropriate) and action plans fed back to employees
- Work with counterparts in other departments to promote effective cross-departmental communication
- The ability to manage short and long-term projects
- Act as the department’s representative at wider team meetings
- Be the initial contact for all internal customers regarding the function
- Ensure that all driver experience with Holman exceeds their expectation
- Monitor the delivery of the function and make suggestions to develop it, focusing on delivering a comprehensive and quality service to its customers
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
- Ensure achievement against departments KPIs
- Act upon performance information provided, coaching and guiding staff members to improve knowledge and skill where required
- Chair regular employee performance reviews and annual appraisals, and manage follow up actions
- Support team development and personal development within teams – helping teams and individuals to be the best they can be
- Communicating constantly and consistently – sharing department and company activities and goals to build
What are we looking for?
Education and/or Training:
- Technical vehicle related qualifications such as City & Guilds or equivalent
- Demonstrable, detailed knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics, preferably extending to include HGV and ancillary equipment fitted to vehicles
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications - primarily Outlook and Excel
- Qualifications or good knowledge around vehicle compliance requirements and full appreciation of the necessity of vehicles and equipment being compliant
Relevant Work Experience:
- Experience in a workshop environment or similar
- Experience working within a team in an office environment
- Adept at computer use and familiar with Microsoft applications
Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:
(Ranges from task-focused to integrating related functions, to broadly strategic integration)
- Demonstrable analytical and problem solving abilities
- Ability to multi task with consistency and accuracy
- Highly organised, able to manage a variety of work-streams effectively
- Ability to work efficiently in a structured, methodical manner
- Have strong administration skills, with an ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
- Collaborative, proactive and dynamic approach
- Committed to finding solutions, with ability to use initiative and common sense
Communicating & Influencing Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively, build and maintain a rapport with people at all levels
- Ability to manage difficult conversations effectively and hold conversations at a technical level
- Ability to listen, and have confidence to question if the understanding of requirements is not absolutely clear
- Ability to interpret information speedily and accurately, and take appropriate actions
- Be able to convey information concisely to appropriate personnel
