Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Data Center Capacity Manager to join our Data Center Operations team. The ideal candidate will oversee the capacity planning, delivery, and optimization of our data center infrastructure. This role will ensure that our data centers meet current and future demands and align with business objectives and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Selection: Lead lease evaluations, negotiations, and approvals while creating metro plans focused on time-to-market and cost efficiency.
- Lease Execution: Oversee the lease process from demand signal to availability, ensuring key performance metrics (safety, quality, cost, etc.) are met within business timelines.
- Capacity Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimize data centre performance and scalability, partnering with stakeholders to set goals and drive large-scale projects.
- Project Management: Manage lease projects and data centre infrastructure deployments, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality completion.
- Team Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including planners, engineers, and IT, to align capacity needs and delivery with business objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze data centre performance metrics, implementing improvements as necessary.
- Financial and Commercial Oversight: Negotiate lease terms and collaborate with Finance and leadership to conduct cost analysis and recommend the best lease options.
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain relationships with vendors, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Market Research: Research new locations, providing insights into market strategies and risks.
- Data Integrity: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records for executive reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in data center operations, with a focus on capacity planning and delivery.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale data center projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in data center operations
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and applications
