Job Overview

The Manager of Data Operations will lead a global team of data analysts responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of data to our clients in the energy, trading, and financial industries. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our data collection processes and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative team environment while implementing standardized procedures and best practices. The Data Operations Manager will play a crucial role in aligning team goals with organizational objectives.

Responsibilities And Duties

Team Development and Performance

  • Clearly convey team objectives, priorities, and individual roles to foster an understanding of their impact on team goals.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback, coaching and fostering trust.
  • Develop and track performance metrics to evaluate individual output. Ensure individuals meet targets while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency. Implement training when skill gaps are identified.
  • Lead efforts to align global teams through knowledge transfer and process standardization training.
  • Facilitate training and onboarding for new team members to ensure a smooth integration into the team.

Operational Efficiency

  • Implement and maintain standardized data processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Track key performance indicators to ensure the team adheres to established data quality standards and operational protocols.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance data quality and reduce incidents.
  • Ensure 24/7 staffing coverage for required operational processes.
  • Ensure that all operational processes are well-documented for reference and training purposes.

Issue Resolution and Escalation

  • Serve as the primary escalation point. Act as the primary contact for delicate issues that require managerial intervention, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Resolve operational challenges by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Cross Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth data flows and enhance interdepartmental communication.
  • Coordinate with vendor management team to ensure positive vendor interactions and data licensing compliance.
  • Partner with technology teams to identify areas for automation improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of existing processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • 5+ years in data operations, data management, or a related role.
  • 3+ years of experience in a management role, leading teams and processes.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and SQL is required.
  • Experience working with energy and commodities data is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to establish and standardize processes across teams and locations.
  • Familiarity with metrics reporting and performance tracking.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
