Overview

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Sector Leader to join and build our contaminated site assessment, remediation and environmental management practices in Europe. This position will support the growth of our core practices and will play a key role in managing client development and project management for clients across several industries, with the Manufacturing sector as a key area of focus. You must have an entrepreneurial attitude, and enthusiasm for leading and supporting business development and technical efforts to expand Geosyntec’s market share. The successful candidate will ideally be based near our Manchester, Delph or Bristol offices, however for the right candidate we will also consider fully remote working.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the leadership of our Manufacturing sector business development strategy for our European operations.
  • Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan.
  • Project and task management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors.
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and technical report writing on a variety of contaminated site assessment, remediation, and operations and maintenance projects.
  • Reviewing and managing written document production.
  • Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or a related field of study (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Professional certification (Chartered status). (preferred)

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients in the manufacturing sector, e.g. chemicals / pharmaceuticals / aerospace / automotive / FMCG (required)
  • Detailed understanding of soil and groundwater remediation regulations. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Proven leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid UK driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
