RINA is currently recruiting for a
Marine North-West Europe Principal Surveyor to join its office in Southampton within the Marine North Europe Region Division.
Mission
The successful candidate is required to support in the technical and operational field the major client operating passenger ships in the North-West Europe, reporting to the Director of Marine Operations North-West Europe.
Key Accountabilities
The main tasks to be covered will be:
- Assist passenger ships managers in the daily operations
- Be point of contact with the Flag Administrations and RINA colleagues involved in surveys with passenger ships of client managed by North-West Europe
- Identify client’s needs in terms of service optimization and new services to be provided
- Coordinate special projects and activity with passenger ships companies
- Resolve complex situations with proactiveness and fast thinking approach
- Support the client to ensure safe and continuous operations of the vessels
- Perform surveys/audits on board of passenger ships
Qualifications
- Experience working as a marine surveyor, preferably with an IACS member or an equivalent combination
- Fluency in both English language (verbal and written)
- Significant technical competence in passenger existing ship, new building and associated statutory requirements
- Knowledge of ISM, ISPS MLC certification and passenger ship surveys preferred
- The ability to travel throughout the region
- A degree or equivalent within a relevant field of business study
- Thorough understanding of the local marine environment
- Ability to participate in and add value to technical discussions with clients and RINA colleagues
- Organizational and planning skills, ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
- Intermediate or advanced experience using MS Office suite of products: Word, Excel, Outlook
