Job Opportunity: Package Responsible Engineer (PRE)

Contract: 12-month renewable contract

We are seeking a Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) to join our team in Glasgow, supporting transformative projects in sulphate removal technology. This role is ideal for experienced Mechanical Engineers with expertise in specifying capital equipment. Candidates with backgrounds in Rotating Equipment, Pressure Vessel Packages, or Mechanical Packages (e.g., dosing sets, balance of plant) are particularly encouraged to apply. In some organizations, this role may also be referred to as Project Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight

• Define technical requirements in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Prepare technical requisitions, datasheets, and Supplier Document Requirements Lists (SDRL).
• Evaluate bids, prepare technical bid tabs, and facilitate order placement.

Project Management

• Conduct vendor kick-off meetings and manage vendor documentation.
• Monitor and progress vendor activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
• Oversee equipment inspections as required.

Package Delivery

• Make-Up Water Skid Fabrication
• SBS Dosing Unit
• Trolley-Mounted CIP Unit
• RO Membrane Housings
• Other related packages

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure all engineering processes align with project procedures and HSE/Q standards.
• Submit timely project reports to management.

Requirements

• Education: MEng or equivalent work experience in an engineering discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years in oil and gas or water treatment industries, with a proven track record in project delivery.

Mechanical Engineering Expertise:

• Experience specifying capital equipment, such as:
• Rotating equipment.
• Pressure vessels.
• Dosing sets and balance of plant.
• Broad capabilities in handling multiple types of mechanical packages are advantageous.

Skills:

• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, and Adobe Acrobat.
