We’re currently seeking a Medical Manager to support our Rare Disease franchise. As the successful candidate, you’ll be joining Ipsen in a pivotal role that offers a unique opportunity to shape the medical strategy and drive impactful collaborations within the healthcare community. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, providing strategic insight across our exciting rare disease launch pipeline, while giving you a chance to grow and develop within Ipsen. Responsibilities
- Lead the therapy area Integrated Brand Team (IBT) with cross-functional team members.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for Ipsen UK Operations and Group Objectives.
- Collaborate with key medical functions to develop Local Annual Medical Plan and Asset Medical Budget(s).
- Plan medical strategy and tactics with the Medical Affairs Director Neurosciences and Rare Diseases.
- Align medical strategy with the MSL manager to account and customer plans of the MSLs.
- Foster professional collaborations with the Healthcare community.
Scientific And Educational Activities
- Conduct scientific exchanges with TL for mutual clinical and scientific interests.
- Identify collaboration opportunities with TL aligned with Ipsen strategy.
- Develop collaborations with Healthcare Professionals (HCP) and act as a medical contact for TL and external medical experts.
- Provide scientific/educational presentations to HCP reactively and proactively.
- Organize or support scientific exchange meetings and satellite symposia in UK&I congresses.
Insight Generation And Sharing
- Gather actionable insights from HCPs related to disease state, unmet medical needs, and therapeutic trends.
- Organize and deliver Advisory Boards.
- Report insights from major National and Regional medical congresses.
- Collaborate with patient organizations on specific initiatives.
Support To Clinical Development & ISS
- Support R&D projects and Company Sponsored Studies (CSS) operations.
- Coordinate unsolicited Investigator-Sponsored Study (ISS) requests.
- Implement and follow-up on post-marketing clinical activities.
- Identify opportunities for real-world-evidence data generation.
- Guide the development of integrated data generation plans and facilitate peer-reviewed publications.
Resource Allocation:
- Manage budget and resource allocation within the medical field in consultation with the Finance team.
- Approve relevant projects and contracts within budget limits.
- Ensure timely delivery of activities vs. budget and efficiencies.
Internal Cross-Functional Collaborations
- Provide scientific expertise and training to commercial staff.
- Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials.
- Attend local brand teams and regional account planning/training sessions.
- Support hospital formulary submissions and enhance the patient journey with the healthcare system.
Requirements
- Accredited physician or UK registered Pharmacist.
- Proven experience working within Medical Affairs with previous TA experience being preferred but not essential
- Experience as a medical signatory (or to the level of a medical signatory if not a medical graduate or pharmacist) for the UK ABPI Code of Practice
- Experience in design, planning and conduct of clinical research protocols.
- Experience and expert working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines relevant to industry interactions with health-care professionals.
- Driving licence.
