About The Role
We have a number of great opportunities to become
a Meter Technician as part of our Meter Field Services team in Essex. This is a field-based role, traveling across our Essex operational area to deliver unrivalled customer service across both our traditional and Smart meter portfolio.
Delivering an unrivalled customer experience is critical to success in our business ambition to be national leader within the water industry. This role requires an individual who is demonstrably passionate about providing the best possible levels of customer service.
You will work as part of a team to deliver a field-based enquiry, investigation and resolution service, in a way that supports and informs the business in all aspects traditional and smart metering, which includes Installing new Smart Water meters at our customers properties, attending appointments and site visits to offer advise and support, Completing in home water efficiency audits and locating lost & missing meters.
A company van will be provided along with full uniform, PPE, and all required tools.
The role requires you to work 37 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, Monday to Saturday between the hours of 08:00 to 19:00.
Please Note -
This role has been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.
Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a pre-employment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course. Failing a pre-employment drugs or alcohol test may lead to the job offer being revoked
About You
Our Meter Technicians are the face of Northumbrian water, so we are looking for you to bring the ability to engage and communicate with people, along with a passion and enthusiasm to make a difference to our customers.
You will have a positive and flexible approach to ensure deadlines are met within a busy day and you will ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner for yourself, colleagues and customers, in line with our Health and Safety policies.
You will be comfortable working alone for most of your day with minimal supervision and you will be happy working outside in all conditions. You will be able to meet the physical demands of this role and will have proven experience of using your initiative with a high level of attention to detail as you will be recording job completion details using electronic devices.
As a company van is provided, you must have a full manual UK driving licence and be willing to undertake a DBS check as an entry to premises card is required for this role.
