Movement Operator - Submarines

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Movement Operator to join our Submarines business in Derby.
You will support safe and efficient operation of the Lower Tier Facility and its associated processes, support production activities within the Contact Area to achieve contractual requirements, satisfy monthly targets and support the core production programme.

You will ensure compliance with all aspects of Criticality Control, including an understanding of all process limits as specified on local Criticality Control Certificates in accordance with LC23.

What You Will Be Doing
You will ensure that recommendations arising from the investigation are actioned in a timely manner and Business Performance is notified on their close-out.
- You will be responsible ensure compliance with the local arrangements for the introduction and storage of radioactive material on the site especially with respect to the use designated storage areas, inventory limits and relevant operating rules.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that radioactive material under their control is stored in designated storage areas when not in use and within the requirements of the associated safety case/report. Inventory limits and key operating parameters from the safety case/report shall be clearly displayed on the outside of the storage area.
- Responsible for the accounting of radioactive matter stored and maintaining of associated records
- Responsible for maintaining the nuclear matter inventory system
- Responsible for ensuring that storage facilities are subject to routine inspection and any necessary maintenance.
- Technology and standards planning to help understanding of both technology development and transition of technology into the programme. Similarly, this can be done for technical standards to aid understanding of how and when evolving standards/regulations may benefit or impede the programme.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
