GE HealthCare’s Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) division develops innovative molecular imaging agents and contrast media to enable precision medicine and a future where healthcare has no limits.
We have an internship opening in our R&D Nonclinical Development Team. Nonclinical Development comprises a group of PhD scientists from a variety of backgrounds including pathology, toxicology, pharmacology, ophthalmology, neuroscience and molecular imaging.
This role will give the successful candidate exposure to various aspects of drug development. This internship offers a well-rounded experience for emerging scientists in the life sciences field who are interested in the behind-the-scenes workings of a global organisation.
This is not a laboratory-based position. This is an office based position or a hybrid role with the expectation of at least 2 days in the office.

Job Description
Essential responsibilities:
- Contribute to standardisation of processes for nonclinical studies, including automation of test item requirements.
- Understand and interpret nonclinical guidelines and design processes to allow standardisation amongst the team.
- Read and understand scientific literature to produce position papers for internal and possible external publication. This may include the PET landscape of cardiology tracers, for example.
- Work with the chemistry team to perform safety risk assessments using the scientific literature.
- Work with members of the nonclinical team to support them in study design and execution and protocol and report writing.
Qualifications/requirements
- A life sciences degree completed, or in progress
- Interest in science and emerging technologies
- Demonstrable team-work, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Technical aptitude (i.e. able to read and comprehend technical documentation, regulatory guidelines, ability to comprehend and execute procedures, ability to understand scientific literature and contribute to technical discussions)
- Demonstrable aptitude to quickly learn new skills (scientific or IT-related)
- Good command of Excel is preferable, knowledge of programming (e.g. Python) is welcome although not essential
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure and time constraints
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
