Job Description
What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to join our Contracts & Checking team in Glasgow.
You will be responsible for performing the daily duties associated with all Contracts & Checking functions, ensuring all transactions executed on behalf of our clients are processed correctly and timely. You will action any adjustments and investigate any queries raised by various internal departments including Front Office, Dealing and Settlement teams, to confirm all transactions dealt in the market have successfully matched in Crest and if not then liaise with appropriate parties to resolve any issues. The team are also responsible for MIFID II Transaction Reporting.
As Operations Executive - Contracts & Checking, your responsibilities will include among others:
- Ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard and work produced within deadlines, any anomalies are reported to your line manager within agreed timescales and ensure that personal and team KPI's / KRI's / MIR are met, assist in collation of MI highlighting any issues to management.
- Respond to telephone and email enquiries in a timely professional manner, liaising with fund managers and external parties where relevant and in a timely manner, escalating any issues where relevant.
- Log, maintain and respond to written client enquiries in a timely manner, ensuring all client and external documents are relevant and up to date.
- Adopt a high-quality culture to minimise errors and ensuring high quality service levels are delivered. Ensuring all work is with a high level of accuracy, including data input, document checking and payments, escalating to manager or relevant department where necessary..
- Ensure that fair treatment of clients is at the forefront of all activities and that all interactions are conducted in an open and transparent manner.
- Demonstrate an understanding and application of the Group's Conduct Risk Framework Ensure that knowledge and skills are maintained and developed in line with industry, regulatory and internal requirements by undertaking regular and appropriate continuous professional development (CPD).
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
To Be Successful In This Role, You Should
- Demonstrable interest in financial services and in particular investment management.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages: Minimum basic level Outlook, Word and intermediate level Excel.
- Strong Interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to communicate well both written and verbally to senior audiences.
- Ability to solve problems quickly with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and an ability to organise workloads effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Responding to queries from both internal and external parties in a timely manner and providing a high level of customer service both internally and externally.
Desired
- Experience gained within a financial services institution especially in Operations is advantageous but not essential.
- For candidates with no relevant experience, Scottish Higher / GCSE's (or equivalent) at level C or higher in relevant subject.
- Relevant professional qualifications e.g. CISI Investment Operations Certificate desirable but not essential.
