The Role
As our Payments Manager – Cards, you will be part of the Payment Services team who are responsible for payment channels and regulatory compliance within the Group’s payment ecosystem.
You will be a Credit card and payments SME responsible for delivering strategically important payment initiatives by partnering with our Tech & Change team and Suppliers.
This is an exciting opportunity to act as a Payment Leader within the business, providing expert-level knowledge and advice on payment services
As a Payments Manager – Cards, You Will
- Maintain strong relationships with banking partners and suppliers.
- Responsible for monitoring and understanding upcoming Visa and other Payment regulatory compliance changes and flagging these for action to relevant Tech and Change teams
- Oversee reporting on the service performance of payments processes incl. financial reconciliation
- Implement new payments upgrades and methods that enable product and service innovation.
- Ensure a current understanding and relevant level of knowledge of payments is in place across the business and Group
- Responsible for ensuring that VBG is compliant with all payment requirements and regulations
- Acting as a Expert for the business for all payment providers, you will oversee the onboarding and review process for new suppliers, whilst working closely with Procurement and Supplier Management to maintain current relationships and their deliverables, including the managing the potential risks of all vendors.
What We’re Looking For
- Analysis experience on credit card and UK Payment (BACS, CHAPS etc) systems
- Hands on experience in working with Credit Card Processors like Fiserv, TSYS, FIS
- Strong experience with Debit Card processing, Payment gateways, Acquirers
- Good knowledge of Visa/Mastercard Operating Regulations and Scheme systems
- Good understanding of UK consumer lending regulatory landscape including PSD, CCA compliance
- Experience working on Digital Wallets, Open Banking and PSD2 SCA compliance would be beneficial
- Great interpersonal; organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Great problem-solving and analytical skills
- Confident, able to build credibility with stakeholders and suppliers
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with perseverance and professionalism
- Proven track record of management of small teams of analysts
