Job Purpose
We have a great opportunity for a Wastewater Planning and Performance Manager to join our Wastewater Planning and Performance team. This role is critical to delivering the Asset Management Plan (AMP8) and driving the overall strategy for Wastewater. Key activities are: -
- To set the framework, manage and guide effective delivery plans for wastewater, that deliver excellent service, add value and support the long-term asset stewardship that serve customers and businesses in the North West England.
- To liaise across the wastewater planning and performance teams to ensure delivery plans are aligned to company objectives and wider Wholesale plans including the in AMP county plans, longer term plans including DWMP and the development of the PR29 wastewater plan.
- To ensure strategic alignment of adaptive plans with wider business planning frameworks including wastewater quality and quantity strategy, county plans, Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan (DWMP) and business plan submissions.
- To determine appropriate regional and sub-regional performance targets, including those related to regulatory performance commitments, and monitor operational performance.
- To work collaboratively with county leadership and performance teams to set county targets and advising on county plans.
Job Accountabilities
- To work with the Operational Directors, County Business Leaders, Head of Planning and Performance and Asset Management to deliver great service within the price control and prepare for the next price review process.
- Manage and guide the delivery of the detailed plans that support delivery and the overall five-year plan.
- Support the development of the County Plans across Quality and Quantity
- To drive and co-ordinate the regional Ww Plan
- To align plans into wider Wholesale plans including the DWMP, long term strategies and geographic Strategic Asset Plans
- Within the Price Review process you will:
- Manage the risk and opportunities register for the Wastewater Price Control.
- Lead the production of programme updates to the PMO.
- Work with a range of internal stakeholders to ensure strategy and plans align to the corporate strategy.
- Work closely with Economic Regulation to understand and interpret Ofwat guidance to align the strategy and plan
- Develop case studies and support development of the business plan where relevant.
- Ensure customer engagement/research aligns with the wider development of the AMP strategy.
Knowledge And Skills
- Degree in relevant discipline.
- Broad understanding of wastewater services operations and a knowledge of how the service interacts with regulatory frameworks and stakeholder groups
- Strong communications skills with experience of working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of aligning the interests of varied stakeholders.
- Computer literate with an excellent knowledge of SharePoint, Excel and other relevant computer systems to enable manipulation of data to aid reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and be able to draw appropriate conclusions from varied sources of relevant yet complex data.
- Ability to think strategically and develop and present their own ideas to ensure that appropriate changes are effectively delivered through the business.
- Good organisational skills to ensure that work is prioritised and managed through to completion.
- Good understanding of the various planning frameworks e.g. WINEP, DWMP.
- Able to maintain knowledge and skills to develop within the role.
- Knowledge of the wastewater end to end system and Price Review process is desirable.
