The role
As a Principal Commissioning Engineer - Electrical, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a critical role, with the opportunity to engage and network with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. You will manage an established team of Commissioning Engineers and act as the Subject Matter Expert providing your technical knowledge and expertise.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage and Lead a team of Commissioning Engineers to provide planning for the Mid Life Revalidation Period.
- To Manage the test group system data.
- Provide technical support for the planning of MLRP - Mid Life Revalidation Period.
- To act as a Ship System Subject Matter Expert for the team.
- To promote a robust safety culture within the team.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working.
Essential Experience Of The Principal Commissioning Engineer - Electrical
- Substantial knowledge and experience of commissioning electrical systems on nuclear submarines, specialising in Ship systems.
- Sound and demonstrable knowledge of safe release of systems, Control of Work process and Safe Systems of Work.
- The ability to manage multiple complex commissioning packages across multiple projects.
- Excellent leadership, training and developing qualities
Qualifications For The Principal Commissioning Engineer - Electrical
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in an engineering discipline
- Degree qualified / HNC is desirable or with relevant extensive experience

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
