Description
We are looking for an experienced strategic finance professional, at Principal level, to focus on the real estate house-building portfolio, collaborating closely with the business on tasks such as strategy execution, operational efficiency, financial oversight, people management, and governance matters related to the Portfolio Business.
The Principal will work alongside the Portfolio Business management teams on both routine activities and ad-hoc initiatives associated with managing the specific Portfolio Business. They will also oversee the management of a team at Investment Analyst and/or Associate level, assigned to the Portfolio business.
Skills
The candidate for this Principal, Portfolio Operations role will have commenced their career with a leading strategy consulting firm, investment bank or leading accountancy practice and have gained additional experience in a portfolio role in private equity or in strategy / corporate development within the house-building or property sectors. Candidates should be highly numerate, able to understand, interpret and analyse financial data and have had responsibility for the analysis and processing of transaction data within the deal context of the Portfolio Business or development opportunities.
They should feel comfortable preparing and/or reviewing sophisticated operational and financial models and be able to succinctly review, prepare and structure memos, powerpoints and any other relevant documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Prior sector experience would be advantageous in allowing analysis of potential risks and returns on investment decisions within existing portfolio businesses and potential new investments; and in leading wider market research and analysis in identifying trends, opportunities, and risks affecting companies in the sector. Supportive of those less experienced than them, candidates should enjoy providing coaching and mentoring support.
