We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Infrastructure team in Kent. Skanska are the National Highways delivery partner for Lower Thames Crossing South – Kent Roads.
The A122 Lower Thames Crossing will connect the A2 and M2 in Kent to the A13 in Thurrock and junction 29 of the M25 in the London Borough of Havering.
It will be approximately 14.3 miles long, with 2.6 miles of this in two tunnels under the Thames – making them the longest road tunnels in the UK.
The Procurement Manager is a key role to allow for a successful scheme mobilisation and will help to establish and deliver upon our scheme procurement strategy.
What you'll do:
- Develop package procurement strategies that demonstrate and seek stakeholder approval for product/service procurement.
- Undertake tendering activities with a balanced approach to select suppliers based on customer and Skanska objectives.
- Manage a portfolio of sub-contract packages/categories to optimize business value through strategic supplier selection and relationship management.
- Develop and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure timely procurement activities aligned with project schedules/category plans, supporting profitable projects and the UK Business Plan.
- Draft recommendations/business cases for senior management approval of supply chain selections.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Line management to ensure direct report(s) develop, achieve their goals, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and purchasing systems.
- Excellent analytical skills to drive the right decisions and outcomes.
- Confident and professional approach to stakeholder engagement, holding them accountable when necessary to uphold legislative compliance and adherence to procurement policy.
- Supply chain marketplace knowledge and network.
