Job Overview
Supporting the Senior Procurement Manager – Programmes, you will be focused on driving procurement excellence across the Procurement function and wider Southern Water business. Together, you will be responsible for all Company-wide communication and business engagement activity as well as managing key deliverables on company and Procurement Transformation programmes, requiring Procurement involvement.
- Managing specific Company programmes, as directed, that require Procurement’s involvement, and Procurement’s own internal programmes & projects.
- Drafting meaningful communications to be published to the business.
- Managing the Business Engagement model for the function.
- Through hands-on actions, support delivery of enduring strategic and tactical change across the Procurement function, support a demand management approach to provide efficient planning and forecasting across the Procurement function.
- Draft and manage all Procurement Communications being published within Southern Water, on the Homepage or the Hub.
- Own the Procurement Homepage and its updates.
- Coordinate, edit and publish any supply chain wide communications.
- Manage Procurement’s Business Engagement Model, ensuring regular meetings are held with key senior stakeholders, preparing for any Procurement related meetings and, working with the Analytics team, providing associated monthly dashboards.
About You
- Excellent Programme and Project management skills
- Excellent communication skills – including verbal, written and presentation – using these to good effect to be able to influence and explain complex concepts in an understandable manner.
- Ability to demonstrate a proactive/can do style of work, with strong resilience.
- Ability to identify, evidence and improve straw man process, in the absence of formal documentation.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including influencing and negotiating.
- Output, performance, and delivery orientated.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (and/or qualified by demonstrable experience).
- Recognised qualification in procurement preferred e.g., CIPS or equivalent experience.
