Programme Delivery Lead – Transformation with Purpose

Is your career at a stage where you’re seeking more than just a new role? Are you looking for an opportunity where your work has a direct impact on saving lives?

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is one of the most respected names in the charity sector, with an unwavering commitment to its lifesaving mission. As the RNLI embarks on a significant transformation journey, we’re seeking a Programme Delivery Lead who can drive change and lead the organisation through its most ambitious digital transformation programme to date.

This is a rare opportunity to leave a legacy of purpose. If you’re an experienced leader, with a proven track record in digital transformation and ERP delivery, this could be your moment to truly make a difference.

The Background

The RNLI is going through an exciting, multi-year transformation programme that will revolutionise how it operates across multiple areas, including finance, HR, supply chain, asset management, and more. The transformation is not just about updating systems; it’s about enabling the RNLI to be more agile, connected, and efficient in its mission to save lives. You’ll be working alongside a new executive team, with an opportunity to shape the future of the organisation.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for leading the Mainstay Programme, RNLI’s flagship transformation initiative. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners, to implement cutting-edge technologies such as Microsoft Dynamics and Workday(or similar), with a focus on seamless integrations and automation.

Your ability to drive programme success and focus on the end-users—RNLI’s volunteers—will be critical. You’ll navigate complex organisational dynamics, manage expectations, and steer the programme through its most challenging milestones. This is a hands-on role, where you’ll lead a diverse team of around 40 people, ensuring that the transformation stays on track and delivers measurable impact. You will also drive cross-functional change, ensuring collaboration and alignment with all stakeholders.

About You

We’re looking for a highly skilled Programme Delivery Lead with significant experience in driving large-scale, complex transformation projects. You’ll have a track record of implementing ERP solutions (ideally Dynamics 365 or similar), but more importantly, you’ll bring strong leadership, a clear focus on the end-user, and the ability to manage diverse stakeholder interests.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have a background in industries where digital transformation and supply chain management are key.
  • Bring strategic and practical knowledge of change management, with a focus on ensuring outcomes are tangible and impactful.
  • Be able to influence at the highest levels and drive consensus across senior stakeholders.
  • Have a passion for the RNLI’s mission and a commitment to ensuring that transformation directly benefits the organisation’s lifesaving work.

RNLI offers a unique opportunity to contribute your skills and experience to a life-saving cause, in a role that will be both rewarding and impactful. If you’re at a stage in your career where you’re ready for a challenge that will leave a lasting legacy, this is the role for you.
