The Vacancy

We are seeking to recruit a Product Coordinator to primarily support the delivery of GMP (Guaranteed Minimum Pension) equalisation projects for UK based defined benefit pension scheme clients.

What will your role look like?

The role will support our Actuarial and Project consultants and involve:

  • Ownership of client delivery tracker, developing a clear understanding of the functionality and approach to prioritisation of clients
  • Management of all imminent projects to ensure they remain on track, and developing and implementing critical recovery plans for any with delays
  • Oversight and attendance at all project kick-off calls; including the production and distribution of meeting agendas, supporting papers and project meeting minutes
  • Providing administrative support to consultants at project meetings, as directed
  • Key point of contact for liaising with all internal teams involved in the delivery of GMP projects, arranging and leading all weekly calls to agree priorities and deliverables, communicating progress thereafter
  • Ensuring project deliverables / actions are progressed / completed within pre-agreed timescales through effective communication with all key stakeholders
  • Ongoing monitoring and maintenance of project documentation to ensure this provides an accurate picture of progress at any point in time and facilitates regular reporting
  • With guidance, create and develop GMP specific project toolkit including project plans and other key project control documentation e.g., agenda, meeting note, action log, highlight report etc.
  • Support the ongoing development of processes and procedures to address GMP equalisation requirements.
  • Create and update internal team and project SharePoint sites/files; ensuring accurate version control procedures are maintained
  • Depending on experience, initial analysis of pension scheme data and reporting of results to more senior consultants to aid decision making
  • Support client billing processes, including the timely drafting and issue of client invoices for onward peer review
  • Keeping up to date with developments in relevant pensions legislation and best practice
  • Be flexible during high periods of activity and remain calm under pressure
  • Attending relevant job-related training/development sessions
  • Adhering to the firm’s Information Security standards, policies and procedures
  • Adhering to the firm’s professional and quality standards e.g. peer review process
  • Flexibility to travel to client meetings and other Hymans Robertson offices, should this be required
  • Acquiring and maintaining a solid understanding of the firm’s products and services

About You

  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring a high degree of accuracy in all client related communication (such as papers, agendas and emails).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • A proactive individual with a strong can-do attitude and a hands-on approach, who works in a partnering and collaborative manner with others.
  • Strong time management, organisational and prioritisation skills to successfully meet deadlines and manage workloads.
  • Ability to remain calm and continue to deliver client needs under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. MS Project and VISIO experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

To enjoy and succeed in this role you will have

  • Experience in a project coordinator and/or business analyst (or similar) role is essential.
  • Awareness of project management best practice and techniques.
  • A commitment to keeping up to date with developments in the pensions industry
  • A can do, positive attitude with a willingness to learn about the sector and the changing needs of our clients.
  • Experience of working in consultancy firm and/or in a change or continuous improvement function in any industry would also be advantageous but not essential.
