Become a part of our talented deugro team, as we look for a Project Coordinator, Ocean in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Key responsibilities:
- Handling and managing general cargo and project shipments, incl. full operational (technical) and cost control / profitability (commercial) aspects for primarily ocean freight.
- Shipping all kind of cargo, incl. out-of-gauge and heavy lift cargo across the globe, primarily via sea freight and multiple trade lanes, including cross-trades.
- Timely management of multiple lines of communication between suppliers, shippers, customers, and internal parties, maintaining details, and relaying pertinent information to appropriate parties.
- Coordinating and negotiating with subcontractors, sourcing competitive rates from potential subcontractors.
- Calculating and monitoring project profits, including accurate processing of supplier invoices.
- Become fluent with deugro’s in-house Operating Systems, Accounting Systems, and Tracking Systems.
- Supporting sales team in writing up offers and proposals to clients.
- Work constructively in a team-oriented environment to ensure customer requirements are met, with problem-solving abilities and a positive attitude.
- Supporting management (local and regional) in reporting, etc.
Skills, knowledge, and expertise:
- 2+ years in the freight forwarding industry, with particular emphasis on ocean freight, including breakbulk.
- Competency in documentation and administrative needs, such as bills of lading, packing lists and commercial invoices.
- Familiarity with INCOTERMS and FMC regulations, with knowledge of shipping terminology around the different needs of ocean freight is an advantage.
- Proven track record of successfully executed logistics operations, coordination and management.
- Time management with ability to prioritize workload independently.
- Familiarization with current software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communications skills (cross-functional and cross-cultural), and ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal.
