Job Title: Project Engineer - Capital Projects Execution and Site Support
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Location: West Midlands, UK
Pay Rate: £400-£450 per day (Outside IR35)
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Project Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a similar environment to join our team on a 12-month contract. This role focuses on the execution of capital projects and includes providing professional support to the site in various areas. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution:
- Manage Industrial Investment Projects: Oversee new installations, modifications to existing installations, and demolitions to support the site's ongoing development. Projects typically range from £50k to £1M, with an average of £100-200k.
- Define Project Scopes: Assist in engineering studies and design to fully define project scopes.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with site engineering and maintenance teams in project development and execution.
- Engage Contractors: Engage and manage external contractors as required to meet project objectives.
- Cost and Schedule Management: Develop, control, and report on project costs and schedules.
- Develop Specifications and Procedures: Create and maintain specifications and procedures for equipment design, installation, and maintenance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain and apply knowledge of applicable regulations and standards (HSE and technical) in project design and execution.
Site Support:
- HSE Support: Contribute to site HSE objectives by completing safety study actions, ensuring compliance with management of change procedures, and updating documentation.
- Site Improvement Initiatives: Support site improvement initiatives in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Operations Improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a similar environment, specifically in managing industrial investment projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Skills and Competencies:
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of engineering principles and practices relevant to industrial investments.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of applicable HSE and technical regulations and standards.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external contractors.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address project challenges.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in project planning and execution.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility: Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages with varying project values.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- On-Site Presence: This role requires being on-site five days a week.
- Must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
