We are looking for a UK Projects Lead to join our our team that deliver a varied and diverse portfolio of project work across the UK. The role is based at one of our key prestigious client accounts within ISS UK.

You will be a highly motivated individual that takes immense pride in their work. You will have proven experience across a range of project management, team leadership and client reporting skills that ensure you are positioned to be successful.

The role forms part of the Projects SLT team, working with like-minded individuals to ensure complete coverage across the portfolio of work that we deliver.

Job Description

As the UK Projects Lead, based in London, you will be responsible for the management and oversight of the UK project management team who are responsible for delivering a varied portfolio of work for our key client (across multiple buildings and locations in the UK).

Working in conjunction with our Commercial and Project Management Office, you will ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standard, following appropriate governance and controls. You will inspire and motivate, setting a clear vision of expectation and will energise the team to work towards common goals.

Maintaining open, honest and transparent communication, you will build the trust and support of your team and our client, leading by example and demonstrating integrity and accountability.

You will have the ability manage conflict effectively, demonstrating the relevant level of communication and emotional intelligence required for a role at this level.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership – Develop and implement the overall project management strategy to align with organisation objectives
• Strategic Leadership – Define priorities and oversee the project portfolio to ensure delivery of key business goals
• Strategic Leadership – Develop and maintain relevant supplier relationships, working with internal procurement teams to ensure a suitable preferred supplier list for project delivery
• Project Oversight and Governance – Ensure full alignment and compliance with the project management framework, methodologies and best practice
• Project Oversight and Governance – Monitor the progress of all projects to ensure timelines, budgets and quality standards are met
• Team Leadership and Development – Lead and inspire project managers to foster a culture of accountability and excellence
• Team leadership and Development – Provide coaching, mentorship and development opportunities for team members
• Stakeholder Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers and SLT members
• Stakeholder Management – Act as an escalation point for project related issues and conflicts
• Resource Management – Allocate resources effectively across projects to optimise efficiency and performance
• Resource Management – Monitor resource utilisation and resolve any capacity constraints
• Performance Management and Reporting – Track and analyse project performance to ensure continuous improvement
• Performance Management and Reporting – Present regular updates and reports to senior leadership and stakeholders as required
• Health and Safety Compliance – Ensure that relevant Health and Safety policies are adhered to and compliance can be demonstrated across all projects

Professional and personal competencies/qualifications

Essential

• Extensive Project Management Experience
• Proven success in delivering projects on time, budget and to desired quality
• Significant experience in leading, mentoring and managing project teams and other project managers
• Commercial accountability of £20m+ (across multiple projects)
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams toward achieving goals
• Strong experience in overseeing a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with organisation objectives
• Proven ability to prioritise and manage resources across multiple projects
• Excellent experience in building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve stakeholder conflicts or competing interests effectively
• Full knowledge of information technology, Microsoft 365, MS Project etc

Desirable

• Ideally the job holder should have been educated to at least Degree, HND or equivalent full technical standard
• Ideally hold a recognised qualification in project management.
• Experience of the Monday.com project management platform is preferred but not essential
