We are recruiting for a Plant based QA Technician to join our team in Market Drayton.
The purpose of recruiting for this role is to uphold and ensure adherence to procedures that maintain product quality, safety, and compliance with legal standards. The role involves understanding the fundamental principles of Quality Assurance (QA) and providing essential support to the QA team. Additionally, the position will play a key role in introducing QA functions to a new area of the business while actively promoting and practicing safe behaviours to protect the health and safety of oneself and others on site.

Location and shifts: Market Drayton, Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5pm with early finish on Fridays!
Salary: £28,000 annually
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Ensure all QA schedules are completed on time or escalate as required.
- Able to investigate and complete foreign body and Site non-conformance reports to satisfactory closure.
- Able to understand and manage documentation and complete basic traceability.
- Able to place materials / finished product on QA HOLD / status 1 and to follow to release / rejection.
- Check, log and approve/ reject concessions.
- Manage glass and hard plastic breakages and bodily fluid incidents.
- Manage glass, chill air and glass audit schedule.
- Complete GMP & Black bin audits and coach operations on what good GMP standards are.
- Must be able to cover Product Analyst and have a basic knowledge of Goods Intake.
- Any other business requested by the QA Manager for the needs of the business.
Health, Safety & Environment Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment / culture.
Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities
- Understand the principles of CCP’s.
- Able to take the appropriate actions when a CCP fails.
- Complete all food safety schedules for micro testing such as hand swabs, waters, air plates listeria, allergen and ATP swabbing (as per QA schedules)
- Complete product testing for micro, shelf life, nutrition and QUID as required.

- Attention to detail, great time management, ability to work on own initiative as well as within a group.
- Organised with an inquisitive attitude towards problem solving.
- Able to work with other departments and communicate with all levels of management.
- Great team player challenging the day today, quick decision making, quick escalation of issues that cannot be solved in the department.
