Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Inverness, where you will play a vital role in delivering commercial support on our Civils Asset Management and Building Asset Management frameworks for Network Rail. Business Unit
Our projects encompass a diverse range of multi-disciplinary civil engineering works, collaborating with clients such as Local Authorities, Network Rail, environmental agencies, and private developers. Current live infrastructure projects include – Roads, Bridges, Footbridges, Tunnels, Underbridges, Flood alleviation and repairs, Embankments, Rail platforms and much more.
We are actively managing multiple frameworks, including Civils Asset Management (CAM), Renewals Enhancement Framework (REF), and a slab track framework.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor based in our Inverness Depot, you will be an integral member of the commercial team, with responsibilities that include:
- Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers in managing multiple projects on time and within budget.
- Preparing accurate and timely estimates for all remits.
- Engaging with clients to resolve pricing issues as they arise.
- Collaborating with Site Managers to gather necessary information on ongoing remits.
- Managing subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Overseeing change management processes and issuing early warnings when necessary.
- Administering contracts in line with NEC or Network Rail's specific contractual forms.
- Conducting cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
- Finalising accounts for completed works.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should possess:
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree).
- Strong contractual experience with NEC or bespoke Network Rail forms of contract.
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering contracting environment.
- Experience in the rail sector is beneficial, but not essential.
