The Project
Birmingham Gateway Atrium - The project is to permanently replace the fabric and supporting steelwork. This will involve extensive temporary works to allow the businesses and passenger to be unaffected. The assessment of the station structure to allow the temporary works has uncovered further issues that require an agreed engineering solution.
Birmingham Gateway Life Safe Systems - Undertake a gap analysis into the certification and supporting evidence to determine the level of completeness and compliance of the information on file. Identify and manage any residual risks on the Birmingham New Street lifesaving systems. Undertake field confirmation of non-compliances within the systems scope. Produce the suite of complete documentation required per identified sub system.
You’ll Need To Have
- Experience in M&E (including Lift Systems, Mechanical Systems, Fire Detection, LV Distribution) discipline competencies in accordance with discipline specific competency frameworks set out in Network Rail Project Advice Notes.
- Able to provide expert advice and support associated with the provision of services for our customers and suppliers.
- Suitably qualified and member of a relevant technical body.
- Strong problem solving expertise, with the ability to draw on and apply lessons learned from other projects.
- Has held responsibility for ensuring successful delivery of projects in or to Network Rail. Experience of working in a safety critical, regulated, and multi-organisation operating model within the railway industry.
- Ability to discharge Network Rail's CDM (Construction, Design and Management Regulations) related duties as required by company process.
- Ability to discharge Designated Project Engineer (DPE) and Project Engineer (PE) roles under NR/L2/RSE/02009.
- Holds or ability to hold a NR ATW (Authority to work) in the relevant subject/discipline. Experience of CSM and RIR to monitor whether the design and construction elements meet with the requirements of CSM and Interoperability legislation, through application of NR and Industry Standards.
- Ability to review and check the designs comply with legislation, Railway Group and Network Rail company standards.
- Ability to manage small project engineering teams and own output to meet project objectives.
