Location: This role will be based at one of our service centres in the region.
PURPOSE
Reporting to the Head of Transport, as Regional Logistics Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our mixed fleet HGVs, lorry loader cranes, tankers, and drivers within your region. You will be responsible for liaising with our Operating Centres, throughout the region, ensuring vehicles are maintained in line with our Operator Licence undertakings and supplier agreements, keeping operational impact to an absolute minimum.
You will be responsible for completing weekly compliance and KPIs reports, highlighting performance trends and improvement opportunities.

Working with our Suppliers
- Cultivating strong relationships with our maintenance suppliers, ensuring our vehicles are maintained in accordance with maintenance agreements.
- Design and communicate a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Continuously analysing fleet spend ensuring no additional costs are incurred that should be covered under R&M agreements.
- Produce detailed reports for SLA reviews.
Responsibilities within the Logistics team
- Collaborating closely with the Logistics Optimisation Planners and Logistics Coordinators to ensure maintenance appointments are achieved, conducting in-depth reviews into any non-conformances.
- Detailed review of maintenance paperwork, paying particular attention to brake test results, driver reportable and monitored defects.
- Produce and circulate weekly driver infringement and behaviour reports, tracking performance, instigating further actions, as required.
- Review regional staff plans and Relief Driver utilisation, highlighting areas for improvement.
- Produce and circulate weekly vehicle performance reports, investigating any unknown / missing mileages.
- Support Logistics Coordinators, advising on driver & vehicle compliance, abnormal load movements / C&U regulations, and waste movements.
- Control and apply for annual Police Dispensation requests.
- Coordinate insurance claims in a timely manner, ensuring all information is reported.
- Support FORS, and other external audits.
- Visit Depots to undertake spot check audits where required.
- Coordinate new driver inductions.
- Manage driver training, driver CPC Hours, ALLMI training etc.
- Ensure driver licence checks are completed in line with FORS/company requirements.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU?
Qualifications:
- Transport Manager CPC, refreshed within the last 5 years.
Experience & Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of UK & EU legislation related to fleet and driver compliance.
- Familiarity with industry changes and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of them.
Skills & Expertise:
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Advantageous: Experience with Lorry Loader Cranes and Tanker/Waste Management Services.
