About This Role

Join our global Tax Reporting and Compliance Support division in Burgess Hill, West Sussex as Regional Tax Specialist.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Manage local tax provisions (prepare/review/analyze) and participate in the global tax compliance processes with the Montreal tax team.
  • Present to Montreal tax team the conclusion and results of the quarterly tax provisions for all the countries under scope.
  • Special project: Actively participate in the review of the global tax provision reporting processes to optimize it and participate in the implementation of new processes to mitigate tax risks.
  • Coordinate timely tax compliance. (tax provision, tax returns and true-up/book-to-tax)
  • Apply IFRS (IAS12 and IFRS34) to the tax provisions.
  • Responsible for relationships with sites (controllers) for quarterly tax reporting.
  • Responsible for processes in place (SOX controls) surrounding tax compliance for tax provisions and tax returns.
  • Responsible for transfers to sites of tax entries recorded at the consolidated level (pushdowns) and bridges to local GAAP.
  • Reconcile effective tax rates by identifying permanent differences.
  • Review and analyze the continuity of current and future tax accounts.
  • Prepare the reconciliation between the tax provision and the previous year's tax return. ("true-up / BTT")
  • Analyze accounting information to identify the appropriate tax treatment on transactions.
  • Analyze notices of assessment received for foreign entities to identify potential risks to be considered in the consolidated tax provision.
  • Participate to various special projects related to tax law changes and improvements to tax.
  • Collaborate with Montreal tax team on various tax projects as such as Pillar Two, interest limitations rules, etc.

Perform related tasks:

  • Act as a support to the business entities.
  • Participate in the training of business entities members.
  • Be aware of changes in tax rules for countries under supervision and tax rates. (statute of limitations, rules surrounding the treatment of losses, and others)


Our ideal candidate has:

  • A University degree in accounting.
  • Previous Training/ Qualification in taxation with proven knowledge of IFRS-IAS 12 and a strong knowledge of the tax law applicable to UK, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Poland.
  • Knowledge of the accounting standards (IFRS).
  • Excellent knowledge of the concepts surrounding tax provisions. (permanent differences, temporary differences)
  • Minimum of 8-9 years experience in corporate tax compliance, including 2 years in accounting.
  • An UK accounting qualification is an asset. (such as CIMA or ACCA)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, an asset.

You prefer working in a fast-paced environment as part of a global team. In this role you are reporting to our Director Taxation based in Montreal, Canada. You enjoy working independently and pro-actively.


Contract details & location

The position offers hybrid working (2 days from home) and is based at our Business Aviation Training Centre in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. We are offering a full-time and permanent contract. The working hours of the role are Monday to Friday, 39 hours a week.
